The seven-night sleep setup checklist
Test one small bedroom change and keep a simple record before buying another sleep accessory.

1. Pick one problem
What gets in the way: unwanted light / noise / uncomfortable temperature / schedule / something else: ____. A sleep mask only addresses light.
2. Try a free change first
Can I cover an indicator light safely, adjust a curtain, move the phone away, or keep a steadier waking time? My single change this week: ____.
3. If a mask is useful, check the fit
Can I blink freely? ____ Does the strap press behind my ear? ____ Does it move when I turn sideways? ____ Can I wash it as instructed? ____ Check the return policy before opening.
4. Keep a seven-night record
Night 1–7: bedtime ____; waking time ____; change tried ____; comfort from 1 to 5 ____; how rested I felt ____; notes ____. Copy this row seven times. These are personal notes, not a sleep score or diagnosis.
5. Decide what to keep
Did the change feel comfortable and useful? ____. Was something else different that week? ____. Keep the useful habit; do not assume the accessory caused every change.
6. Know when a shopping fix is not enough
Persistent sleep trouble, loud snoring, gasping, or strong daytime sleepiness deserve medical advice. Do not rely on a mask to treat them. Avoid driving when sleepy.
